Free invoice templates for every trade
An invoice asks to be paid for work that is already done. It is the paper that gets you the money, so it has to say plainly what the job was, what it cost, and how to pay for it.
Pick your trade
Each has a page of its own — what goes on an invoice in that trade, what that trade bills for, and the questions it actually gets asked. The sheet opens with that trade’s usual jobs and prices already filled in.

What goes on an invoice
- Your business name, phone number and logo
- The customer’s name, and the address the work was done at
- An invoice number, and the date you are sending it
- Every job and part on its own line, with its own price
- Labor kept separate from parts, because tax often treats the two differently
- The total, the date it is due, and how you want to be paid
Not sure when an invoice is due? The invoice due date calculator works the date out from your terms — Net 15, 30 or 60.
Customer reads Spanish? Set the paper language to Español and the invoice prints in Spanish — invoice in Spanish.
How to send it
Most customers want the paper on their phone, so the invoice goes out by WhatsApp, text or email, or as a link they can open without installing anything. You can download the PDF instead if you would rather print it or keep it for your own records.
Pick how it looks
Six looks, from a plain classic sheet to a bold top band or a shop ticket, and your initials or logo are placed automatically. See all six looks.
Questions about invoices
Do my invoices have to be numbered?
In practice yes, and anyone doing your books will insist on it. Sequential numbers with no gaps mean a missing number is obviously a missing invoice. A year prefix — 2026-001, 2026-002 — makes the year readable at a glance and starts a clean run each January.
The customer says they never received it. What now?
Send the link again rather than a fresh PDF. The link is the same document at the same address, so there is no second version to argue about, and you can see it was opened. Resending an attachment tends to produce two invoices and one confused customer.
Can I invoice without a registered company?
Plenty of people bill under their own name as a sole trader, and an invoice from a person is still an invoice. Whether your trade or your state wants you registered, licensed or collecting tax is a separate question, and the place to settle it is your state’s own guidance rather than a template.
How do I put sales tax on an invoice?
Set your rate once and it is applied to the subtotal and shown as its own line. Keep parts and labor on separate lines while you are at it — a good many states tax the two differently, and separating them after the fact is far more work.
How soon should I send the invoice?
The same day, if you can — ideally before you leave. An invoice handed over while the work is still fresh gets paid faster than one that arrives a week later, when the customer has stopped thinking about the job.
