What goes on a flooring work order
Fitting runs to a sheet because the order matters and the constraints are physical. Which room first, which way the boards run, whether the door still closes — those are decided once, and an installer who was not at the measure has no way of knowing any of them.
- The rooms, and the order they are being done in
- The direction of lay in each, and where the pattern starts
- Thresholds and transitions, and what meets what
- Doors: which need easing, and who is doing it
- Furniture and appliances: what is being moved, by whom, and where to
- Acclimatisation: when the material arrived and when it may be laid
- Sign-off per room, and the offcuts left with the customer
The sample line items and example prices this sheet opens with are on the flooring invoice template — the same table, which is about the trade rather than about this paper, so it lives in one place rather than on all six.
What you get

A PDF, and a link your customer can open in any browser. Word and Excel versions are not available yet — if a spreadsheet is what you need, this is not yet the tool for it, and saying so is cheaper for both of us than you finding out after typing everything in.
Pick how it looks
Six looks, from a plain classic sheet through a bold top band to a shop ticket, and your initials go on automatically until you upload a logo. See all six.
How to send it
Most customers want the paper on their phone, so the work order goes out by WhatsApp, text or email, or as a link that needs no app and no account on their side. Or download the PDF to print it or keep it for your own records.
Questions
Why does the direction of lay need writing down?
Because it is decided by the light and the longest wall, and an installer arriving on the morning will default to whatever is quickest. Laid the wrong way it cannot be fixed without relaying the room, and the customer who chose it at the survey will remember exactly what they chose.
What is acclimatisation, and why is it on the sheet?
Most wood and many vinyl products have to sit in the room for a day or more before fitting, or they move afterwards. Putting the delivery date and the earliest fitting date on the sheet is what stops a crew with a free morning laying it too soon.
