What goes on a flooring quote
A quote works once the subfloor is known — a new build, a screed you have tested, a room you have already lifted. On a refit, quoting before the old floor comes up is pricing somebody else’s work blind, and flooring is unusually unforgiving about that.
- The rooms, the measured area, and the direction of lay
- The material exactly, by range, color and batch
- The fixed price covering supply, fit, trims and disposal
- The subfloor as inspected, and the date you inspected it
- Moisture test results, where a slab is involved
- Lead time on the material, which on special order is the real constraint
- Both signatures, and how long the price stands
The sample line items and example prices this sheet opens with are on the flooring invoice template — the same table, which is about the trade rather than about this paper, so it lives in one place rather than on all six. Working out the price itself? The markup calculator turns your cost and markup into the figure to put on the quote, and shows the margin it leaves.
What you get

A PDF, and a link your customer can open in any browser. Word and Excel versions are not available yet — if a spreadsheet is what you need, this is not yet the tool for it, and saying so is cheaper for both of us than you finding out after typing everything in.
Pick how it looks
Six looks, from a plain classic sheet through a bold top band to a shop ticket, and your initials go on automatically until you upload a logo. See all six.
How to send it
Most customers want the paper on their phone, so the quote goes out by WhatsApp, text or email, or as a link that needs no app and no account on their side. Or download the PDF to print it or keep it for your own records.
Questions
Can I quote without lifting the old floor?
On a new build or a tested screed, yes. On a refit, lifting a corner takes ten minutes and is the difference between a fixed price you can hold and one you cannot. Three layers of old vinyl over a bitumen adhesive is a day of work nobody priced.
Should the quote name the batch?
On anything where color varies, yes. Vinyl, carpet and engineered wood all shade between batches, and a room finished from two batches is a complaint you cannot fix. Naming it also means a delayed start gets a conversation rather than a surprise.
