What goes on a cleaning work order
A work order earns its place on the one-off jobs: a deep clean, a post-construction clean, a move-out. Those are judged against a list rather than against an impression, and the list is the whole job. Agreed in advance and signed at the end, it is the difference between a deposit returned and a week of arguing about a stove.
- The property and the date, with access and who is letting you in
- The room-by-room list, in the order it will actually be worked
- What is explicitly excluded — exterior windows, lofts, anything needing a ladder
- Whether the utilities will be on, which in an empty property is not a given
- Waste: what is being taken away and what is being left
- Time on site, and how many cleaners
- A sign-off line, with room for anything the customer wants doing again
The sample line items and example prices this sheet opens with are on the cleaning invoice template — the same table, which is about the trade rather than about this paper, so it lives in one place rather than on all six.
What you get

A PDF, and a link your customer can open in any browser. Word and Excel versions are not available yet — if a spreadsheet is what you need, this is not yet the tool for it, and saying so is cheaper for both of us than you finding out after typing everything in.
Pick how it looks
Six looks, from a plain classic sheet through a bold top band to a shop ticket, and your initials go on automatically until you upload a logo. See all six.
How to send it
Most customers want the paper on their phone, so the work order goes out by WhatsApp, text or email, or as a link that needs no app and no account on their side. Or download the PDF to print it or keep it for your own records.
Questions
Why bother with a work order for a one-off clean?
Because a one-off clean is marked against somebody’s expectations and nobody writes those down. A move-out is the clearest case: the tenant wants a deposit back, the property manager wants a standard met, and the only thing that settles it is a list both sides agreed to beforehand.
What if they want something adding on the day?
Add it to the sheet, price it there, and get it initialled before you do it. Builders’ cleans in particular grow — one more room, the garage, the windows outside — and a job that grew without a written line is a job you did for free.
