Terms

Short, because the deal is short: you use it for free, your papers are yours, and it comes with no promises beyond what it plainly does.

What you are getting

A free tool for making trade paperwork. No account is required, nothing is charged, and no payment details are ever requested. Where an account exists, it is a convenience for syncing between devices rather than a subscription.

Your papers are yours

Everything you type — your business details, your customers, your prices, your logo — stays yours. This site stores it so it can show it back to you and to the customer you send it to, and claims no ownership of it and no right to use it for anything else. Delete it whenever you want; see Privacy.

You are responsible for what is on the paper

The prices that appear when you pick a trade are starting points, not advice about what to charge. The tax rate is the one you set. Whether an invoice is correct, whether the tax on it is right, and whether it meets whatever your trade or your state requires, is yours to get right.

Nothing on this site — not these terms, not the FAQ, not the guides — is legal, tax or accounting advice. Where any of it touches those subjects it says what is usual and points you at whoever actually decides it, and that is as far as it goes.

Using it sensibly

Do not use it to:

Accounts or devices doing any of the above can be cut off without notice, because the alternative is everybody else’s service getting worse.

As-is, and sometimes not there

It is provided as-is. There is no uptime guarantee, no promise that a feature will still exist next year, and no warranty of any kind — express or implied — about fitness for a particular purpose. Keep your own copies of anything that matters; every paper downloads as a PDF for exactly that reason.

To the fullest extent the law allows, this service is not liable for lost income, lost data, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from using it. Since it is free, any liability that cannot be excluded is limited to what you paid, which is nothing.

Changes

Features will change, and these terms may change with them. There is no mailing list to notify you, so the version on this page is the one that applies.

These terms are written in plain English and have not been reviewed by a lawyer. They deliberately leave out a governing-law and jurisdiction clause rather than guess at one — that is the part worth paying somebody to add.
