Privacy

This site asks you to type your business name, your customer’s address and your prices into somebody else’s website. That is a reasonable thing to be careful about, so here is exactly what happens to it.

What you give it

That is the whole list. It never asks for a payment card, because it never takes a payment.

The one cookie

A cookie called jp_device holds a random identifier, nothing more. It exists because the app works without an account: a paper made by somebody who has not signed in still has to belong to something, so it belongs to that browser. It is set for a year, it cannot be read by JavaScript, and it is not shared with anyone.

There is no advertising cookie and no third-party tracking script on this site. Not as a policy position — there simply is not one.

What gets counted

Four things, and only as totals: a page being viewed, a paper being started, a PDF being saved, and a paper being sent. The point is to find out what share of visits actually end in a finished document, which is the one number that says whether any of this is working.

It is counted against a random identifier held in your browser’s tab storage, which is created when you arrive and destroyed when you close the tab. It is not a cookie, it is not sent to anyone else, and it cannot be connected to you or to a later visit. Stored alongside it are the page, the trade and the kind of paper — never anything you typed, never your IP address, never which browser you use, and never the code from a link you were sent.

All of it stays here. No analytics company is involved and nothing leaves this site’s own database.

Where it is kept

Papers, business details, customers and your account (your email address, plus your name and profile picture if you sign in with Google) are stored in a Postgres database on Amazon Web Services. Uploaded logos go to Neon’s object storage. Sign-in codes are sent through our email provider. If you choose Continue with Google, Google confirms your email address and shares your name and profile picture; we never see your Google password. Those providers hold the data on this site’s behalf and are bound by their own terms.

Links you send to customers

Sending a paper creates a link with a long random code in it. Anyone holding that link can open that one paper — that is what makes it work in a WhatsApp message, with no account needed at the other end. The link is not listed anywhere on the site and those pages tell search engines not to index them, but treat the link itself the way you would treat the paper: send it to the customer, not to a public channel.

What it does not do

Getting rid of it

If you have never signed in, your papers are tied to the browser you made them in — clearing that browser’s site data removes your side of it, and you can email to have the stored copy deleted too. If you have signed in, email the address below and the account and its papers will be deleted.

Either way, ask and it goes. There is no retention clause here dressed up as a feature.
